Overview

Following XJTLU’s exciting and innovative Syntegrative Educational Model, this programme is an equal collaboration between the University and its industry partner, China Culture and Media Group, at the School of Cultural Technology in XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang).

The BA Arts, Technology and Entertainment is an interdisciplinary programme that combines film, television, photography, digital arts - specially immersive technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR) - and Creative Artificial Intelligence (CAI).

Through a series of practical and research-based projects, you will gain industry and technical experience designed to develop your professional skills in art, entertainment, content creation and development, motion capture, and project management.

In addition, through the programmes unique focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, you will acquire the skills and abilities to become an independent practitioner and entrepreneur, capable of anticipating changes and communicating strategically with stakeholders at all levels.

Knowledge and skills

By the time you graduate from the BA Arts, Technology and Entertainment programme, you will have:

  • the ability to plan, design, develop, produce and manage content and content strategy in a range of settings, including media companies, art institutions, design agencies, culture and innovation groups
  • knowledge and skills in digital application, artistic innovation, space design, interaction design, and aesthetic art literacy
  • well-developed understanding of both China's and the global entertainment industry
  • the ability to combine theory, practice and critical thinking to find innovative business solutions
  • comprehensive knowledge of entrepreneurship and leadership, project management and innovation concepts and how to apply them in a practical setting
  • high-level communication, interpersonal, problem-solving and analytical skills that are transferable across a range of careers and industries.

Graduates from this programme will be well-prepared for roles such as creative producer, art director, interactive designer, or to reach senior in top national and international organisations. Graduates may find employment in industries such as art, entertainment and Virtual Reality (VR). This programme also offers a solid foundation for pursuing further studies in the fields of film, games, heritage and simulation.
